What was left of Tinker Federal Credit Union, the vault saved 14 employees and 8 members when the tornado hit. |
One of the most impactful pictures we saw was from a fellow
credit union – Tinker Federal Credit Union (another TFCU). Their branch in Moore
was completely leveled EXCEPT for the vault.
Thanks to some quick thinking on the part of the staff, all 22 people who
were in the branch at the time the tornado hit, were saved by taking refuge in that
vault.

You can help people affected by disasters like floods, fires,
tornadoes and hurricanes as well as countless crises at home and around
the world, by making a donation to support American Red Cross Disaster
Relief. Your gift enables the Red Cross to prepare for and provide
shelter, food, emotional support and other assistance in response to
disasters. They are most often
the first on the scene in the event of a disaster and everyone in South Florida
is always mindful this time of year of the fact that if another hurricane hits,
the Red Cross won’t be far behind.
